High Frequency Word lists are the most often used words in text that
students need to know by sight and be able to read quickly. Print these
lists and practice these words with your children.
Ways for students to practice High Frequency Words (HFW)
- Make flash cards to practice learning the words.
- Use the words sentences.
- Spell words.
- Recite the words.
Live Homework Help
Live Homework Help targets student in grades 4-12 and provides them with homework assistance in English, Math, Science and Social Studies. The program is Internet-based and connects students with qualified tutors in real time. The service is free and is available on the County of Los Angeles Public Library website at www.librarytutor.org. To access the program, students need a County of Los Angeles Public Library card which is free at the San Dimas Library.
