Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

            Welcome to my class! I would like to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Tracy Pang. I am a California State University, Fullerton college graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development. I also earned my California State Teaching Credential from CSUF. I have a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in computer integration, and I followed that up with an administrative credential. This will be my fourteenth year teaching fifth grade in the Bonita Unified School District. Like your child, I grew up in the San Dimas community. I was 12 years old when my family moved to San Dimas, so I know the area very well. Now that the summer has come to a close, we are all anxious to begin the 2015-2016 school year. Personally, I am very excited, and I am looking forward to teaching your 5^th grade child this year!

            This year will be full of new experiences and adventures for your child. To make sure that your child has a successful year, there are a few recommendations I would like to offer. Please make sure that your child comes to school each day prepared. Your child must be ready with a binder that has 4 folders inside of it. Please do not count pockets or dividers as folders. I would really like to see folders (Peachy like). This is one of the tools that I will use to help prepare your child for middle school. Also, I would love for each child to have a set of colored pencils (Those twistable Crayola ones work great!), and a 3 subject notebook. This will really help get the year started smoothly.

            I will be assigning homework Monday-Thursday. The normal routine in my classroom is to assign Fluency, Spelling, Math, and Reading each night. The homework routine will be explained in detail at Open house. Students will be using an agenda and homework assignments will be written in there for your convenience. To keep you informed of your child’s progress, I will be using Standards Score which you can access from any computer at anytime.

            I would love to have help from my parents. If you are interested in working in the classroom this year, please do not hesitate to let me know. Both the students and I enjoy when you are there. I have several ideas to make the school year fun, but I need your help to make it happen.J

            You and your child can look forward to learning about the fifth grade outdoor school and other planned activities at Back-to-School night on Wednesday, August 26^th, at 5:30PM in Room 12.
